Engineer Soham Parekh Accused of Misleading Multiple Startups
A young engineer is under fire after several startup founders accused him of misrepresenting his background and secretly working for multiple companies at the same time.
Soham Parekh, whose resume featured roles at several high-profile AI startups, reportedly held jobs at up to four firms without informing any of them. Suhail Doshi, co-founder of Playground AI, first raised the alarm on X. He wrote, “I fired this guy in his first week … for lying/scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later.”
Doshi didn’t stop there. He also shared a copy of Parekh’s resume and claimed it was mostly fabricated. The resume listed remote jobs at Dynamo AI, Union AI, Synthesia, and Alan AI. Doshi said, “Probably 90% fake and most links are gone.”
PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware.

I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying / scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses.
Soon after, other founders came forward. Nicolai Ouporov of Fleet AI said Parekh had “been working at more than 4 startups at any given time” for years. Likewise, Flo Crivello of Lindy said his company hired Parekh and fired him the very next day after discovering red flags.
Parekh also claimed academic credentials from the University of Mumbai and a Master’s from Georgia Tech. However, some founders are now questioning the truth of those claims.
As the controversy unfolded, Parekh privately contacted Doshi. He wrote, “Have I completely sabotaged my career? What can I do to improve my situation? I am also happy to come clean.”
Shortly afterward, a post from an account called “The Real Soham Parekh” appeared online. In it, he stated that he had committed to just one role going forward. He wrote, “Building is the only thing I’ve ever truly known.”
- Soham Parekh reportedly worked at 3–4 startups simultaneously
- Founders from Lindy, Fleet AI, and others confirmed removing him over trust issues
- His resume included roles and degrees that are now being questioned
- Parekh acknowledged the situation and expressed a desire to fix it
- He now claims he is working full-time at only one company
This incident has sparked broader discussions about remote hiring and resume verification in fast-moving startup environments.
