Sean “Diddy” Combs avoided life prison terms when a jury cleared him of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. However, they convicted him of transporting women for prostitution—and soon after, a judge denied his bail request.

The convictions involve former partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a second woman known only as “Jane.” Each count carries a maximum of 10 years.

Prosecutors aim for a sentence of 51–63 months, while the defense is seeking a range of 21–27 months. The sentencing date remains pending.

Following the July 2 verdict, Combs knelt to pray and exited to chants of “Dream team.” His defense requested bail on a $1 million bond with passport surrender and travel restrictions. Prosecutors argued he posed a flight risk and danger, which led the judge to keep him detained. “This highlights a disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence,” Judge Subramanian said in court.

  • Acquitted: sex trafficking, racketeering
  • Convicted: two Mann Act counts
  • Bail denied—remains in custody
  • Sentence pending; guidelines suggest 4–5 years

Though the split verdict offers partial relief, Combs will stay incarcerated until sentencing, with his future hinging on the court’s final decision.
