A New York jury convicted Harvey Weinstein again. They found him guilty of a 2006 sexual assault involving Miriam Haley, a former production assistant. This ruling came after the court overturned his 2020 conviction last year.

The jury returned a guilty verdict for the charge of forcing oral sex on Haley. They acquitted him of another charge related to Kaja Sokola. Meanwhile, they continue to deliberate on a third charge involving Jessica Mann from 2013.

The trial faced several disruptions. Jurors clashed behind closed doors. One reported threats, and another asked to be excused. Still, the judge refused the defense’s request for a mistrial.

Weinstein, already serving a 16-year sentence in California, chose not to testify. The New York Court of Appeals had overturned his prior conviction in April 2024, citing legal mistakes.

  • Convicted: 2006 assault involving Miriam Haley
  • Acquitted: charge involving Kaja Sokola
  • Undecided: 2013 rape allegation from Jessica Mann
  • Overturned: 2020 conviction in April 2024
  • Serving: 16-year sentence for a separate California case
  • Jury room: marked by conflict and safety concerns

“This is a partial victory for survivors,” said Haley. “But today’s verdict gives me hope.”

Jurors will return to weigh the final charge. For now, this conviction sends a clear message of legal responsibility.
