Nintendo has revealed the stars of its new Legend of Zelda live-action film. Bo Bragason will play Princess Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take on the role of Link. Notably, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the casting on July 16, 2025, through a message on Nintendo’s X account.

In terms of direction, Wes Ball—who previously directed The Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes—will lead the project. Furthermore, Nintendo has partnered with producer Avi Arad, and Sony Pictures will distribute the film. The release date, according to official sources, is set for May 7, 2027.

As for the cast’s background, Bragason, 21, has appeared in BBC dramas like Three Girls and The Jetty, along with Disney+’s Renegade Nell. Meanwhile, Ainsworth, 16, is known for his roles in The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Sandman, and Disney’s live-action Pinocchio.
