Iran Attacks US Bases in Qatar and Iraq; No Casualties

Iran launched missile attacks at US military bases in Qatar and Iraq on June 23, responding to US airstrikes on its nuclear sites earlier in the week.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps named the campaign “Annunciation of Victory.” Missiles targeted Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar and a US base in Iraq. Iran stated that it focused on military zones and avoided areas near civilians.
Qatar confirmed it intercepted the missiles using its air defense systems. Officials reported no casualties and noted they received a warning from Iran before the attack.
- Iran said the strike was a direct response to US bombing raids
- Missiles hit US military sites in both Qatar and Iraq
- Qatar confirmed missile interceptions with no injuries
- The operation included advance notice from Iran
A US defense official said, “Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was attacked by short-range and medium-range ballistic missiles originating from Iran. At this time, there are no reports of US casualties. We are monitoring this situation closely and will provide more information as it becomes available.”
Iranian officials described the move as defensive. They said the number of missiles matched those used by the US in earlier strikes.
